Servicemen of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment prevented to transfer a several thousand packs of cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

During the realization of information from the operational unit of Chernivtsi border guard detachment, border patrol of “Selyatyn” border guard division detected a group of unknown people with packages. With the arrival of servicemen, the wrongdoers abandoned their cargo and fled to escape responsibility. Even warning shots didn’t stop smugglers.

Border guards detected 7500 packs of cigarettes without Ukrainian excise tax marking. The preliminary estimate suggests that the value of the confiscated tobacco products is over 300,000 UAH.
